The Assistant Manager position is one that requires strong leadership skills, managing a team of approximately fifteen sales personnel. This role is self-disciplined with great autonomy. Being a team-member at RK SPORTS will provide a large breath of management skills, encompassing all business functions including leadership, merchandising, planning, human resources, and operations. Experience is not mandatory; the right individual for this job will have entrepreneurial drive and be thoroughly trained on the areas outlined below:
• Base pay (Negotiable depending on experience) + 1% commission

• Employee Selection
o Recruitment and selection ideal candidates for sales associate position
o Reading resumes and conducting job interviews
o Develop and utilize an employee onboarding process to find and retain great staff members
• Training
o Create and update training tools and train sales associates in the following functions:
o POS software and cash management
o Sales and product knowledge training
o Daily expectations
o Service training (for servicing skis/snowboards)
• Development & Monitoring of Employees
o Observing store needs and assigning work to team members then monitoring performance of duties
o Running employee meetings
o Develop employees to meet two primary goals: job satisfaction and employee growth

• Sales, Customer Service, & Operations

o Support customers at point of sale to ensure a great shopping experience by:
-Act as a step-in sales associate during peak sales times
-Handle difficult customers
-Acting with enthusiasm and commitment to providing excellent service
• Operations Problem Solving
o POS and technical problem-solving issues
o Customer & Employee Conflict Resolution
o Fixing daily sales transaction errors
• Oversee Service Department
o Learn to mount skis and snowboard equipment and install accessories
o Manage rental inventories and ensure equipment is safe and working properly by waxing, edging, and repair
• Inventory Control
• Support and participate with inventory management functions including:
o Helping organize purchase orders in Excel
o Merchandise receiving into the POS and matching PO’s
o Product pricing and markdowns
o Inventory mapping – assigning locations for inventory for floor restocking purposes
o Physical inventorying via cycle counting
o Merchandise organization
• Lead by Example/Modeling
o Uphold the company’s brand image by maintaining high personal standards and projecting professionalism and a positive attitude
o Set an example and encourage all employees to meet and exceed the company’s goals and objectives
o Embrace positive change and be a spokesperson for buy-in from subordinates

• Product Buying
o Periodically meet with sales reps to go over new product lines
o Help drive sales by organizing promotional campaigns and monitoring results

o Help the General Manager with store layout and merchandising for the optimal shopping experience
• Product and Sales Analysis
o Help with Generate POS reports and review sales data to identify high and low performing product categories
• Comfortable working in a team environment
